Day 1:
Nairobi to Meru National Park
Depart Nairobi in the morning and embark on a scenic 5–6 hour drive north to Meru National Park, passing through the stunning landscapes of the Mount Kenya region. Arrive at your lodge or safari camp in time for a relaxing lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive to begin your wildlife adventure, spotting elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffes, and a variety of bird species across the park’s peaceful and diverse habitats.
Day 2:
Full-Day Exploration
Begin your day with an early morning game drive in Meru National Park, when wildlife is most active, offering prime opportunities to spot the Big Five ;elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and rhinos as well as cheetahs, giraffes, and a variety of bird species. After returning to your lodge or camp for lunch and some relaxation, head out for an afternoon game drive to explore different areas of the park, or choose an optional guided nature walk to learn more about Meru’s unique flora, fauna, and ecosystems, deepening your connection with this tranquil Kenyan wilderness.
Day 3:
Continued Safari Activities
Spend the day fully immersed in the wonders of Meru National Park, enjoying morning and afternoon game drives to spot elephants, lions, rhinos, giraffes, and a rich variety of birdlife. Explore the park’s rivers, swamps, and diverse habitats, which are home to a multitude of wildlife. Enhance your safari experience with a visit to the former home of Joy and George Adamson, the legendary conservationists known for their pioneering work with lions, and gain insight into their incredible contributions to wildlife protection in Kenya.
Day 4:
Nanyuki – Nairobi
Start your day with a final early morning game drive in Meru National Park, taking one last opportunity to spot any wildlife you may have missed during previous drives. After returning to your lodge for breakfast, check out and begin the scenic drive back to Nairobi, arriving by the afternoon. This itinerary provides a perfect balance of thrilling game drives and relaxing moments, ensuring a comprehensive and memorable experience of Meru National Park’s diverse wildlife and serene landscapes.
