Eight days through Kenya's quieter wildlife regions
This 8 day Kenya safari is designed for travellers who want to see a broader side of the country than the most familiar southern circuit. The journey begins around Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru, continues into the private and community conservation landscapes of Laikipia, then moves north to Samburu National Reserve before finishing at Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
The route combines Rift Valley lakes, rhino conservation, dry country species, elephant habitat, big cat country and some of Kenya's strongest conservation stories. Because this is a private safari, daily game viewing can be adjusted around wildlife movement and road conditions rather than following a rigid group timetable.
First time visitors can prepare using our Start Here guide. You can also compare other Kenya safari packages, browse our safari accommodation collection or request a customised version through Plan My Safari.
Why this route stands out
The first two days ease into the safari through the Great Rift Valley. Lake Naivasha provides a relaxed introduction, with an optional boat and Crescent Island experience, while Lake Nakuru adds classic game viewing, birdlife and rhino conservation. From there, the journey shifts into Laikipia, where conservation areas are generally less crowded and safari days can feel more exploratory.
Samburu changes the landscape again. The Ewaso Nyiro River cuts through arid northern country and supports elephants, predators and specialised dryland species. The final stop at Ol Pejeta brings the journey back to conservation, with rhino protection and the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary forming an important part of the experience.
Rift Valley lakes
Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru create a scenic beginning before the longer northern section. For current Lake Nakuru visitor information, conservation guidance and park notices, use the official Kenya Wildlife Service Lake Nakuru page.
Laikipia conservation country
Two nights in Laikipia allow time for game drives and conservation focused experiences around the Mpala area. Wildlife encounters are natural and never guaranteed, so Euclea Safaris does not promise any particular rare animal. The strength of this section is the space, varied habitat and opportunity to understand how research, wildlife and community conservation interact.
Samburu National Reserve
At Samburu, the safari focuses on the Ewaso Nyiro ecosystem, elephants and northern species such as Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Beisa oryx and Somali ostrich. The Samburu County tourism guide provides useful destination background.
Ol Pejeta Conservancy
The final safari night is spent at Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of Kenya's most important rhino conservation areas and home to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. For current visitor information, see the official Ol Pejeta visitor guide.
Private safari style and rates
This package is configured as a private mid range safari. Current adult rates are stored as dated per person bands according to party size. When a selected travel date and adult group size matches an active rate, Euclea can calculate the total automatically and proceed to secure DPO payment. Groups of seven or more remain quotation only because the published source shows Get Quote rather than a fixed price.
Children are welcome from age two. The source notes that children under five are free, but it does not publish a complete child selling matrix for every age and room arrangement. For that reason, any booking containing children remains quotation based until Euclea confirms the correct child rate.
