About Solio Game Reserve
Solio Game Reserve safari guide
Solio Game Reserve is a private wildlife sanctuary between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountains. Solio’s official history records that the reserve was established in 1970 and became Kenya’s first rhino sanctuary, later developing into one of the country’s most important black and white rhino conservation areas.
Wildlife and photography
Solio is particularly rewarding for rhino viewing and photography, while the reserve also supports buffalo, giraffe, zebra, antelope, leopard and other wildlife. The lower vehicle density can create a very different atmosphere from larger national parks.
How to include Solio
Euclea’s 3 Day Solio Game Reserve Safari combines rhino-focused game viewing with Thomson’s Falls in Nyahururu. Solio can also be paired with Nanyuki, Ol Pejeta and the wider Laikipia Plateau.
