About Lolldaiga Conservancy

Lolldaiga Conservancy safari and horse-riding guide

Lolldaiga Conservancy is a 45,520-acre wildlife conservancy in Laikipia. The official conservancy describes a landscape of folding hills, cedar forest, open grassland and wooded valleys, with broad views toward Mount Kenya, the Aberdares, Laikipia and northern Kenya.

Lolldaiga transitioned from a private livestock ranch to a wildlife conservancy in 2021 and is managed through a Kenyan charitable trust. Its operating model combines biodiversity conservation, tourism and regenerative livestock management.

Wildlife and landscapes

Visitors may encounter elephant, buffalo, lion, hyena, jackal, zebra including endangered Grevy’s zebra, plains game, primates and a wide variety of birds. Leopard, cheetah, wild dog and colobus may also occur but are naturally less predictable.

Horse riding and active safari experiences

Euclea’s current Lolldaiga package uses the conservancy for guided horse riding and wildlife exploration. Depending on the confirmed programme and availability, visits can also include game drives, guided walking and archaeological sites. The official conservancy states that entrance is by pre-booking only.

Archaeology and conservation

The conservancy also protects documented archaeological sites including cave paintings and burial mounds, adding a cultural and historical layer to the wildlife experience.

Planning a visit

Lolldaiga is approximately a 30-minute drive from Nanyuki and fits naturally into a broader Laikipia itinerary. It can also combine with Ol Pejeta Conservancy and Mount Kenya National Park.
